Schedule IAAF World Championships in Moscow

Product Information

For one week, everything in Moscow revolves around sports. From August 10th to 18th, the Russian metropolis is the venue for the official IAAF world championships. Already on the past Saturday and Sunday, the top athletes showed great performances in the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.

The very first competition final took place in the women’s marathon: In 2:25.44 hours, the Kenyan Edna Kiplagat ran to gold and could successfully defend her world championships title. Besides that, the event’s focus was laying on the “kings of athletics”: On Saturday and Sunday, the decathlon athletes gave their best in the different disciplines. The US-decathlete and gold medalist at last year’s Olympics Ashton Eaton was unbeatable this year and won the title before the German Michael Schrader, followed by the Canadian Damian Warner.

The great final of last weekend was the 100m-race with the athletics superstar Usain Bolt. The Jamaican couldn’t be stopped by neither rain nor headwind, and won the race in 9.77 seconds – his sixth world championships gold medal.

But these were only the first highlights of this year’s championships. Many exciting competitions are still to come. We compiled a little time schedule for this week, so you know what is on when, and you won’t miss your favourite athlete in action! :)
