Rock’n’Roll in Las Vegas – Marathon between Glamour and Gambling
Viva Las Vegas! The sinful city of gambling opens its doors for 25,000 runners from all around the world, on December 2nd 2012. So, get ready, and let’s roll at the Rock’n’Roll Las Vegas Marathon.
Sparkling Casinos, hot live acts and a touch of glamour – the special Las-Vegas-charm fascinates millions of visitors every year. But not only tourists and gambling-fans are attracted by the magical city. At the end of the year, thousands of runners meet in the shining oasis in the centre of Nevada’s desert to take a run in the footsteps of Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley.
The course is like a sightseeing tour across the Las Vegas Boulevard, along some of the most famous casinos and hotels, such as the New York New York Casino, the MGM Grand Hotel, the Bellagio, the Caesars Palace and the Statosphere. The route also leads along the Freemont Street, which is covered with about two million light-bulbs. Even if there’s no passing through the Little White Wedding Chapel, the well-known wedding-drive-in, there’s the opportunity for running couples to get married in a three minute run-tho-ceremony.
Fans of costuming get a chance of having a special Vegas experience, too: At the “run as elvis”, everybody can participate and run along the strip with thousands of like-minded fans, dressed as the king of rock. During the marathon, the runners are accompanied by music of 70 live-bands along the course. The route of the half marathon is similar and also leads across the Las Vegas Boulevard.
For those who want to get to know Las Vegas in a fast and sporty way shouldn’t miss out on this spectacle. Get more information at www.stripatnight.com.
