Monster Race… Loch Ness Marathon on September 30th!
Product Information
Everybody knows the myth of Loch Ness. For centuries, the legendary lake has been said to be the home of the eerie but endearing monster Nessie. Having won worldwide fame, the legend attracts visitors from all countries. But not only fans of fables come to the mythical lake. On September 30th, the Baxters Loch
Ness Marathon calls also athletic explorers to the wet monster’s alleged residence.
Every year, thousands of runners meet at Great Britain’s most famous lake to celebrate their favourite sport, marvel at the fantastic scenery and experience the mystical atmosphere. Of course, real Scottish men wear kilts while running!
Accompanied by the classical Scottish fog, with cold, wet feet and the sound of bagpipe music in their ears, marathon runners follow the course along the fabulous area of Loch Ness. The wafts of mist carried through the air of the soft, hilly landscape are just as marvelously Scottish as the contrary to the still life in Inverness, where a ‘greeting committee’ warmly welcomes the running heroes after the race.
Those who dare to approach the monster and conquer the 42 km at Loch Ness can register online at www.lochnessmarathon.com. Not as knightly, but also in the surroundings of Nessie are the alternative distances over 5 or 10 km.
