Ice cream – The sweetest calorie trap of summer
Product Information
Summer without ice cream? Hard to imagine! Whether chocolate, strawberry or vanilla – especially during the hot season, the creamy and delicious desserts are refreshing. Perfect with a generous portion whipped cream and syrup. But attention: Unfortunately, those tempting treats are also the sweetest calorie bombs of summer. From the waffle straight to the weight scale, and the beach body is gone. While vanilla fans consume 100 kcal per scoop, walnut even goes up to 115 kcal. Still unbeaten is the widely-loved chocolate ice cream with at least 120 kcal per scoop. Also the classical summer-figure-enemies whipped cream and syrup fail to improve the statistics: With about 160 kcal, they are the icing on the calorie top.
Those who don’t want to miss out on cold, sweet desserts should rather try the calorie-low alternative frozen yoghurt. Using yoghurt instead of cream, it spares us the high fat and calorie content. With only 50 kcal, the ice-cold refreshment is the right choice for calorie-conscious sweet teeth. Quick, easy and without and ice cream machine – you just need:
500 ml reduced-fat yoghurt
Honey or sugar (whatever you prefer)
1 little bag of vanilla sugar or bourbon vanilla extract
Preparation:
Put the yoghurt into a bowl, stir it until it’s creamy and slowly sweeten it with honey or sugar. Add vanilla and put it into the freezer for 15 to 20 minutes. Stir it and freeze it again for the exact same time. Repeat until
the ice mass is frozen. Check to avoid ice crystals. If you want to be creative, you can decorate your frozen yoghurt with puréed or chopped up fruits. Yoghurt-creations with cookie crumbles, nuts or raisons are also delicious!
