Cholesterol: Healthy lifestyle habits to prevent diseases

Product Information

“Cholesterol” is often associated negatively. Despite, this fat is vitally important being the protective covering of our body cells. It is also responsible for the production of oestrogen and testosterone and protagonist in digestion. Nevertheless, an increased cholesterol level in blood is considered as harmful, once effecting a vasoconstriction by deposition.

Healthy nutrition and sports will keep your cholesterol level in balance.
The liver produces cholesterol for the human body. The so-called lipoproteins transport the cholesterol from the liver through the blood to the different organs. If the cholesterol level in the blood increases, depositions in the blood vessels, vasoconstriction, lack of oxygen in the myocardial muscle up to heart attack may be the consequences.

Regular medical checks should discover and prevent that risk. Especially smoking, overweight, high blood pressure and diabetics patients are in a high-risk group with myocardial infarction and should absolutely consider a cholesterol-conscious diet and regular exercise. As unsaturated fatty acids found in meat and eggs will raise the cholesterol level, a steady healthy nutrition should focus on vegetable fats and fatless meat. The unsaturated fatty acids in fish oil, vegetable oil and cereals may even reduce the cholesterol level. Dietary fibers support the metabolism to get the cholesterol off.

For a lower cholesterol level, regular exercise is highly recommended. Endurance sports, walking, swimming or cycling are right to balance the blood cholesterol level. In case of a genetic predisposition, a medical supervision is due.
